Blessing of the Animals

The San Franciso Bay area is pretty much an epicenter for pet lovers. For an area named after the patron saint of animals we take our furry companions pretty seriously. This last weekend I attended a ceremony held in Fremont where folks brought their pets or photos of pets who’ve passed on to be blessed at a the Center for Spiritual Living — they even had a real St Francis on hand to do some of the blessings. It was very touching and moving and I’m looking forward to going again next year.
