Bailey & Kula: Beating the Heat in Walnut Creek

Bailey & Kula: Beating the Heat in Walnut Creek

Posted on 20. Jul, 2009 by Mark in Dogs, client sneak peeks

Living in San Francisco we’re blessed with cool, foggy summers and I sometimes forget that the rest of the Bay Area can get rather warm in July. Last week, with the thermometer pegged at 100+ in the East Bay, I journeyed to Walnut Creek to photograph two  labs named. Kula and Bailey. Black dogs and heat don’t go really go together  so we opted to stay inside with the AC for much of the shoot.

Kula, a sweet senior  dog,  is 14 and has a great dog smile as well as a predilection for ice cubes. Bailey is 6, an adoptee from ARF,  and likes to sit in laps even though he weighs 80 pounds. Kula and Bailey, enjoy your sneak peak…

I love Kulah’s smiles, she really is such a beautiful, dignified lady… and her brother ain’t too bad lookin’ himself! My favorite is the one where you can see her smiling and the age on her teeth… but her eyes are so bright. She’s kinda like those models on “She’s Got the Look”, for instance: http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/.a/6a00d8341c630a53ef01156fca3ab2970c-800wi

I’m waiting for the “all-nose” collage you assemble with nothing but shots like #6. It’s begging to be done.

I love all these wonderful shots! They are really pretty pups and you captured them perfectly!
