Shir Panjeh – One Cool Cat
Posted on 30. Aug, 2009 by Mark in Cats, client sneak peeks, Pet Food Express My Mutt
It’s been a while since I photographed a cat for a My Mutt poster and my new friend, Shir Panjeh was a great way to get back into the feline swing of things. He lives down in Woodside in a cool house amongst the trees with several other cats, including a Turkish Van named Germanicus who’s getting his own blog post later this week.
Shir Panjeh was rescued through Humanimal Connection and loves playing with twist ties and chasing laser pointers into compromising locations (see below).
Shir Panjeh, here’s your sneak peak. Which shot do you like for the poster?

I vote for Classy Cat!

Mark, these are excellent! I love your choice of blue background on the stairs and the patterned floor/carpet. What a handsome boy! I wish my cats would pose that nicely!

It looks like you had that cat hypnotized to obey your every command/pose. Since this is a cat we’re dealing with, I know that’s not possible. I suggest you market this cat-whispering technique to cat owners everywhere as a side business.

I like “hi there”

What a beautiful boy, ‘on the stairs’ is my pick,
runner up would have to be the photo of the 2 cats (what ‘turkey’ breeder could resist that!)
Good luck,

From Above is a winner.

My favorites are Shir Panjeh and Shir Panjeh and Germanicus

I love “On the Stairs” the best and second would be Shir Panjeh and Germanicus together. Wonderful photography and such patience for the various poses. Great job!!

This is amazing. I am so pleased to see what a strong and beautiful boy he is. And- of course, how loved he is in your home and care!

What a very lucky cat.
All are amazing shots… I do like “From Above” a lot, as well as “hi there” and “classy cat”… But, again, all of them are just priceless and worthy of framing!
Lots and lots of love,

I think the first picture of Shir Panjeh is the best. It shows off his coloring and alertness best.

Jim likes the picture of Shir Panjeh and Germanicus best, but I like “from above”.

All very cute, but rhapsody in blue (“from above”) is the cat’s pajamas.
I have a long-standing pet connection with Shir Panjeh’s new mommy and daddy.
Great job!

I vote for Shir Panjeh from Above
08. Sep, 2009
From Above – “Look deeply into my eyes…..now….take your time……go quietly into the pantry…… get the can of tuna from the shelf….open it…….and bring it to me.”
(Most artful pose – nice color contrast)
Shir Panjeh – “Yes…..yes in fact I am… royalty….you have obviously been traveling in the right circles of late to be so….. astute, and so well dressed I might add. However, you may want to reconsider the Egyptian blue socks. A bit over the top. Here’s the number of my vet….has impeccable taste!”
A Classic pose best for a poster – full cat in picture – nothing else to distract attention from the subject. Good positioning. Very nice blending of background coloring to bring out the best in Shir’s coat.
I’d flip a coin between photo number one and photo number two. I vote #1 for a poster and #2 for a framed photo on the wall at home or for a photo competition.

P.S. Pete, my African Gray parrot, votes for from (the safety of) above as his favorite (for obvious reasons).

“Shir Panjeh from Above” gets my vote. The blue background makes Shir Panjeh’s whiskers pop.

The Hydes and their cats vote for “From Above”. These votes number two humans and five cats.

Great pictures! I like how the lighting and focus in the first five pictures emphasizes Shir Panjeh’s face. My favorite is “On The Stairs”. The bright background colors and vertical lines are a nice contrast against Shir Panjeh’s rounded contours, making him the center of attention; and what cat doesn’t like to be the center of attention?
Humaninal Connection is a fine organization. My wife recently started fostering kittens for them.

Awesome photos! Must be… I’m not so much a cat person as a dog person, but these photos captured a wonderful spirit!
