Shotzie — Shepherd Mix at Sunset
Posted on 30. Sep, 2009 by Mark in Dogs, client sneak peeks
Out here in Northern California we’re entering our best time of year weatherwise. September and October are our climatological equivalent to what would be a combination of spring and fall on the east coast. The temperature is perfect and for a photographer it’s without question the most phenomenal light you can ever hope to shoot in — especially if you time things right in the late afternoon when that amazing, low-angled sunsetting light just bathes everything in amazing reds and golds.
Mix in a dog with a coat that matches that light and you have the motherlode of pet photography. Well, meet Shotzie, a striking golden-colored German Shepherd Chow mix I photographed down in San Mateo last week. We hit the Seal Point dog park just before sunset and all I can say is, “Wow, Shotzie, you look beautiful”. Enjoy your sneak peak.

I love the colors on this shoot, beautiful shepchow– looks like how my grandma describes her first dog, Teddy. The orange of Shotzie’s coat and the blue of the sky is perfect!
