Toby and Sydney

Posted on 22. Feb, 2010 by Mark in Dogs, Pet Food Express My Mutt, client sneak peeks

I’ve been shooting a lot of My Mutt posters for BADRAP (Bay Area Doglovers Responsible About Pitbulls) and last week I got a chance to photograph a lovely pair of older Pitties named Toby & Sydney. The dogs are really comfortable around each other and they’ve taken on that sort of married-couple chemistry where they look like they could finish each others sentences if they spoke.  Sydney, the brindle, is actually a Hurricane Katrina rescue and when you look at her you can see that a) she’s been through a lot and b) she’s a real survivor. Toby and Sydney, you are both heroes in my book.

Stay tuned for more BADRAP dogs in the coming days.

I adore pitbulls. My dad raised them and I wish there were more pitbull awareness groups out there, because a few bad owners are giving the breed a bad name. Our dogs were absolutely adorable, sweet and we loved them.

    Beautiful shots.

Great stuff Mark. You really captured the dogs’ personalities. We posed the “which one?” question to BADRAP’s facebook readers and it looks like PFE is just going to have to print off one of each photo to appease the fans. :-) Thanks for sharing your talent to help the dogs.

They are all so fetching on their own merit that I find it difficult to pick a favorite. “You Lookin At Us” got to me right away and I wanted to be a dog myself so that I could be there to hang out with them. They look so cool but also a little silly, and that is what got to me. Your photographs are sincere and very beautiful. I cannot wait to see more now that I have come across this page. I cannot even remember how I got here in the first place but I am sure glad I did ! Woof… :)

I think ‘Best Buddies’ is the best for a larger than life poster. ‘You lookin’ at us’ gets my “silver medal” vote.
Great thing that it is happening for you. Great photography!!

Great photos!! My favorite is the 7th from top to bottom, but only because I can’t resist a dog with a tilted head. I also live with two rescued Pit Bull mixes (boy and girl). They have been together for 5 years this April and I can’t think of them living apart of each other. Its really beautiful to see and experience.

Great pics, especially the “cat got my what?” photo! My daughter has a Staffie, Sunshine, that is living with me at the moment. I’ve made a solemn promise that I wont try to steal her when it’s time to move to their new place. What a great dog, she’s won my heart :)
