Elvis and Gidget
Posted on 14. Feb, 2011 by Mark in client sneak peeks, Dogs, Pet Food Express My Mutt
Photographing a Dachshund is always a lot of fun. Photographing two of them…well, you do the math. Elvis and Gidget were both recent subjects for a My Mutt poster honoring the Peninsula Humane Society which was given to their mom as a birthday present. (Folks looking for a great gift idea please take note). Elvis (the red) is a bit more outgoing and, as my grandmother used to say, “full of beans”. Gidget (the black and tan) is a bit more reserved and doe-eyed. After a few attempts to get them in a shot together we quickly realized that was not going to happen — Elvis tends to be a bit of a camera hog — and moved to plan B. See how they turned out below and let us know which shot you like for their posters which you can see soon at the Burlingame Pet Food Express.
And, please don’t forget to vote for me as Best Bay Area Photographer in 2011

Mark, you are a magician. Thank you for your patience and joy in photographing my Elvis and Gidget. You captured their spirit and zaniness. I am recommending you to all my pet loving friends.
If you can make my dogs look this great, I may have to get you to photograph me!
Cheers, Elise, Elvis & Gidget

I like the Gidget in Profile & the Smiling’ Elvis. Even looks like he has a cowlick in his tail!
What a couple cuties!

Great shots… our Ozdachs pack appreciates the exposure of long hairs. We got quite a few, “What kind of dog is THAT?” at the Cow Palace show last month!
And, what a great job with the black and tan! It’s about impossible to shoot them so their features show without washing out the background. We have lots of photos of our reds, but only a few of the black and tans.
