First Annual Very Puppy Christmas—December 8, 2007 A holiday puppy adoption event held at Java Beach Cafe down near Ocean Beach. Presented by the John Miller Program with Candy Churilla in conjunction with Rocket Dog Rescue and Pirate Cat Radio. John and Candy broadcast live from the event while I did holiday photos for folks who'd waited 'til the last minute.
Pet Pride Day—October 28, 2007 Everyone's favorite San Francisco pet parade happened the weekend before Halloween. San Francisco Animal Care and Control hosted the annual Pet Pride celebration in Golden Gate Park. Some of the costumes were rather inspired. Check out the scenery.
Dogtoberfest—Upper Douglass Dog Park October 27, 2007 A raffle and fundraiser to help the Friends of Upper Douglass Dog Park raise funds to install a gate at the park and make other improvements. Mark Rogers Photography donated a Pampered Pooch session to the cause and took photos at the event which you can see here.
CitiPets Halloween Yappy Hour— October 20, 2007 A costume party for pets and people plus the opening celebration for my Give a Dog a Bone photography show. I can't really say the dogs were terribly into wearing what they had on but we all have to make sacrifices...don't we. I have a feeling this will come back to haunt us all later.
K-9 Playtime Doggie Daycare Grand Opening October 6-7, 2007 Opening up in the old K9 to 5 facility on Welsh Street in SOMA, K-9 Playtime kicked things off with an open house the first weekend in October. Yours truly was there taking pet portraits of everyone who attended. In all we had 35 dogs show up for their minute in the spotlight. See all the photos.
Chihuahua Cha Cha--Corona Heights Dog Park San Francisco Held the first Sunday of every month. The Cha-Cha is the must-attend event for small dogs in the city. Chihuahuas and lots of other small pups show up, often in costume, for meet and greets. You'll often see me there catching the action..and the costumes. To be honest, there are lots of dogs there who aren't even remotely chi-sized.
Small Dog Class Graduation —San Francisco SPCA Nothing like costume party to celebrate graduation from one of the premiere canine education departments in the country. My own dog, Bizzy, plus 8 other terriers, chihuahuas and mixes therof spent 8 weeks together learning the ins and outs of small dogdom at the San Francisco SPCA.
