Dog & Cat Photos with Personality

Hi, I’m Mark Rogers

I’ve loved animals since I was a kid. My very first photograph was our black cat sitting in a cluster of bright red azaleas. Two decades later, I’m still photographing pets, and I still love it just as much.

I bring that same passion to every session, whether it’s in my San Francisco studio, at your home, in a park, or on location for a commercial shoot with a pet-related brand. Capturing the true personality of dogs, cats, and other companion animals for the people who love them is what drives me. The result is beautiful artwork you’ll have forever.

Let’s plan a San Francisco pet photography session that’s fun for your pet and meaningful for you.

Why Work with Me

1

The difficult ones are my favorites

Nervous, shy, senior, reactive, multi-pet sessions: I’ve worked the full spectrum and love the challenge. After nearly 20 years of experience with dogs, cats, and other pets, I know how differently each animal needs to be approached. A session isn’t finished until the images show who your pet really is.

2

Your pet drives the whole process

Before we pick up a camera, we talk. I want to know your pet: their personality, their quirks, what makes them comfortable. That conversation shapes everything. Nothing gets scheduled until we’ve spoken and it feels like the right fit

Studio or location: I do both

Most pet photographers work in one environment or the other. I’m equally at home in both, and after years of San Francisco pet photography I know which settings suit different animals, different light, different moods. We choose what works for your pet, not what’s convenient for me.

Relaxed people, relaxed pets, real photos

Pets take their cues from the people around them. If you’re tense, they’re tense. A big part of my job is making sure everyone, two-legged and four, is having a genuinely good time. Relaxed subjects give you real expressions, and real expressions make images worth keeping.

Testimonials

  • Mark sees through to the soul of the animals he photographs

One of my many pets is a cat I thought I understood. One photo of her by Mark showed me a proud and strong feline that I had never met before. That was really a special gift to me. I look at her totally differently now.”

Next Steps

1. Let’sTalk

We’ll schedule a call so I can get to know you and your pet. The more I understand about their personality, quirks and what makes them uniquely them, the better I can plan a session that brings that out. We’ll also cover location options, pricing and everything else you need to know to get you booked.

2. Your Pet Session

We’ll meet at my studio, your home, or a location we’ve chosen together. Expect to see a grown man crawling around making animal noises with a camera in one hand and treats in the other. Your pet will have a blast. (So will you)

3. See the Results

Two to three weeks after your session I’ll come to you for your reveal session. This is honestly one of my favorite parts. We’ll look at your images together, you’ll choose the ones you truly love most, and I’ll bring samples of every print and product option so you can see and feel them in your own space and find what’s just right for your home.
