Meet Your Pet Photographer

I’m Mark Rogers, an SF Bay Area pet photographer with a knack for turning canine (and feline) moments into stunning images pet parents love. When it comes to pet photography Berkeley has it all: quirkiness, classic beauty and tons of personality (just like the pets I photograph).

From the eucalyptus-lined trails of Tilden Park to the bold street art around Telegraph Berkeley offers a little something for every pet vibe. Got a four-legged adventurer who loves a good overlook? Grizzly Peak’s views are stunning. More of a people-watcher? The Rose Garden or even a quick stroll around campus makes a great backdrop. Prefer calm and controlled? We can shoot at your home or my nearby San Francisco studio is alwaysan option.

Sessions are laid-back, fun, and tailored to your pet’s energy—whether they’re total goofballs or wise old souls. My goal is to capture the tiny quirks and big expressions that make them yours.

Let’s make something you’ll always cherish—reach out and let’s start planning your Berkeley pet photography session today!

My Clients Say Nice Things

Madina – Daly City, CA

What an amazing experience it was! My dog is stubborn, super energetic, not very friendly with strangers. Mark managed not only turn all this around and change his behaviour but take incredible shots. Mind you he was working hard for two hours straight at our home trying to catch best moments. Thank you very much, Mark

Ryan – Daly City, CA

The thing that impressed me most about Mark was that he took his time to get just the right shot of our two cats, Peanut and Coconut. He spent over an hour, crawling on our floor to get just the right shots of our cats.
We would recommend him to anyone looking for a good pet photographer. Thanks, Mark!

My Top Berkeley Pet Photography Locations

Berkeley is full of personality—and so are its options for photography locations. Some of my favorites are below but I’m always scouting for new ones. Let me know if you have one in mind

Tilden Regional Park

Tilden is a classic—wooded trails, grassy meadows, and even a little lake action. It’s ideal for dogs who love adventure and room to roam. Bonus: gorgeous golden-hour light through the eucalyptus.

Berkeley Rose Garden

A beautiful, manicured setting with blooming roses, terraced stone paths, and a postcard view of the Bay. It’s perfect for quieter pets (and humans) who appreciate a peaceful, romantic vibe.

Indian Rock Park

For a little drama and elevation, Indian Rock offers panoramic views, big boulders, and natural textures. It’s compact but full of character—and great for agile pups who like to climb.

UC Berkeley Campus

Quirky architecture, shady paths, and iconic landmarks make the Berkeley campus a great urban option. Ideal for pets who enjoy people-watching and a walk with variety.

Frequently Asked Questions

Lighting is everything in photography, and that golden hour glow—just after sunrise or right before sunset—is pure magic. It makes fur look soft, colors pop, and your pet look like the star they are. Morning person (or dog)? We’ll go early. Night owl? Sunset’s our sweet spot. Just tell me your pet’s usual energy window, and we’ll make it work.

Berkeley’s got range—from wild trails to quirky corners. Tilden Park has wooded paths and sweeping views (plus plenty of squirrels for motivation). The Berkeley Rose Garden is ideal for a peaceful, floral feel. Want color and texture? The murals near Telegraph or street scenes downtown bring on the urban energy.

And if your pet is more of a couch king or queen, we can absolutely keep things quiet and do the session at home.

No worries—things happen. Whether it’s a surprise downpour or your pet decides today’s not their day, you get one free reschedule. I want the session to be fun and relaxed, not a stress-fest. We’ll pick a new day and try again when tails are wagging and skies are clear.

Absolutely! Standard sessions include up to two pets and two humans. Got more furry friends or family members you’d like to feature? You can—there’s just a $50 fee per extra subject. I’ve wrangled more than a few multi-pet households, so bring the whole crew—we’ll make it happen (and make it fun)

Yes, a helper can be super handy—especially when it comes to wrangling leashes, squeaky toys, or treats. Just keep the entourage small. Too many people can distract your pet (and sometimes me). If little kids aren’t part of the session, it’s best to leave them home with snacks and Netflix.

Berkeley pet photography sessions are $340.. That includes the shoot itself plus all the behind-the-scenes planning: location scouting, prepping for your pet’s unique personality, etc. Wall art, table top pieces and digital files are purchased separately at your reveal session a few weeks after the shoot.

Most sessions include up to two pets and two people. If you have additional pets (or people) you’d like to include, it’s $50 per extra subject. I’ve done shoots with large groups of animals before—it just takes a little extra planning…and treats!
