Pacifica Pet Photography: Genuine Moments preserved

Capturing your pet’s unique spirit through dynamic photography set against the timeless beauty of Northern California’s coastal landscapes

Meet Your Pet Photographer for Pacifica

I’m Mark Rogers, a San Francisco dog and pet photographer passionate about capturing the unique charm and personality of dogs, cats, and other beloved companion animals. I’ve been photographing pets across the Bay Area since 2006 and Pacifica stands out as one of the most stunning backdrops for a session.

With its dramatic cliffs, sandy beaches, and quiet coastal trails, Pacifica provides the perfect setting to showcase your pet’s spirit. Whether it’s an energetic dash along Linda Mar Beach, a peaceful moment at Mori Point, or a relaxed session at home, I focus on creating an experience that feels natural and fun for both you and your pet.

Your Pacifica pet photography session can take place wherever your animal feels happiest—by the ocean, in a scenic park, or at a favorite hangout. If you prefer an indoor setting, my studio in nearby San Franciso is always an option.

For nearly 20 years, I’ve helped Bay Area pet people turn everyday moments into treasured memories. Let’s create something special together—vibrant, heartfelt, and full of personality, just like your animal. Reach out today to start planning your photoshoot!

We did a photo sessionwith Mark and it was a wonderful experience. We had planned to just photograph our dog, but we had to bring along our boys as well. (Childcare lapse!) Mark was flexible, patient, and above all, an excellent photographer

Perfect Pacifica Locations for Dog and Pet Photography

Pacifica is home to countless picture-perfect spots for your pet’s photo session. From beaches to parks to scenic trails, the area offers endless opportunities. While I’m familiar with many hidden gems, I’m always open to exploring new places you love or have heard about. Here are a few of my go-to locations for capturing your pet’s best moments.

Devil’s Slide Trail

Stretching between Half Moon Bay to the west and Pacifica to the east Devil’s Slide Trail offers hikes along some of the most dramatic coastline you’ll ever see. Much of the trail is long the former roadway that ran along the cliffs before being replaced by a new tunnel. This makes a fantastic backdrop for a pet photoshoot.

Linda Mar Beach

Folks flock to this beach for dog walks, views, surfing and a chance to eat at a Taco Bell with the world’s best view. Fast food aside, this beach is a phenomenal spot to photograph dogs.

Aramai Point & Rockaway Beach

Breathtaking views of Linda Mar Beach, Pedro Point and the high hills surrounding Pacifica are among the top reasons I love bringing dogs to this spot. It’s a bit of a hike but that also means it’s not as crowded as other locations

Mussel Rock

This cliffside location is technically in Daly City but it’s literally a step away from Pacifica. There’s ocean vistas and a long trail down to the water with many spots for great images.

Frequently Asked Questions

A pet photography session in Pacifica is $340 and includes a travel fee to account for gas, tolls, and additional travel time. If you’d like to meet in San Francisco instead, the session fee is $290. This covers the entire session, including planning and preparation. Prints and digital images are available for purchase separately.

No problem at all! Many pets are a little nervous at first, but I have plenty of experience working with shy or uncooperative animals. I let them warm up to me, use treats or toys to grab their attention, and keep the atmosphere relaxed. Some of the best photos come from pets just being themselves—whether that’s playful, curious, or a little mischievous!

The town is full of stunning spots for pet photography. Beaches like Rockaway Beach and Linda Mar Beach provide breathtaking ocean backdrops, while the Milagra Ridge Trail or Sweeney Ridge offer sweeping views of the coastline and lush greenery. For a more urban vibe, we can explore the colorful Pacifica Pier or charming downtown streets. If your pet is more comfortable at home, your backyard or living room can also make for a great setting.

Absolutely! While dogs are my most frequent clients, I also work with cats, rabbits, birds, and other small pets. If it’s a pet, I’m happy to photograph them. I also offer family sessions that include pets, so if you’d like to be in the photos with your furry (or feathery) friend, we can definitely make that happen.

Sessions typically last around two hours, though this can vary depending on your pet’s comfort level. I never rush the process—we take our time to ensure your pet feels at ease and has fun. Sometimes we finish a little sooner, and other times we might need a bit longer to capture the perfect shot

Of course! Having an extra pair of hands can be really helpful, especially for keeping your pet calm and focused. That said, I recommend keeping the group small—too many people can be distracting for your pet and make it harder to capture great shots. If young children aren’t part of the session, it’s best to leave them at home.

Most sessions include up to two pets and two people. If you have more pets (or family members) you’d like to include, there’s an additional fee of $50 per subject. I’ve worked with large groups of animals before—it just requires a bit more coordination!!

I schedule sessions on weekdays and reserve one weekend day—usually Saturdays—for shoots. Sundays are also an option with sufficient advance notice. Weekend slots tend to book up fast, so if you’re flexible, we can often schedule your session sooner on a weekday. Once we lock in a date, we’ll discuss your location preferences and choose the perfect spot for your session.

I’m happy to accommodate pets with special needs! Just let me know ahead of time so we can plan the session accordingly. Whether your pet is older, has mobility issues, or requires a quieter environment, I’ll make sure they’re comfortable and safe throughout the shoot.
