Meet Mark Rogers

In my opinion, there’s something about Santa Clara dog and pet photography that’s just plain special. It has it all: wide, green grassy areas of Central Park, manicured grounds at Santa Clara University and quiet neighborhood paths. The Santa Clara area offers nearly endless opportunities to capture pets at their best against beautiful backgrounds.

I’m Mark Rogers, a Bay Area pet photographer who loves following pets on adventures and offering treats when needed (and often when they’re not). I also like traveling thoughout the region for my sessions and the South Bay is one of my favorite places to shoot!

Sessions are relaxed, playful, and entirely focused on your pet’s personality. Whether they’re zooming across the grass, posing like a miniature model, or simply giving you that “look,” we’ll capture the moments that make them truly themselves. By the end, you’ll have portraits you’ll love—and a pet convinced they’re ready for the spotlight.

Ready to make it happen? Let’s get started. All you need to do is schedule a time to have a quick conversation with me to plan and book your Santa Clara pet photography shoot!

I’d been searching for a photographer for a long time, but I had put it off because my girl is a bit of a wack-a-doo and more than a handful.  Mark was extraordinarily patient with us, and persistent, allowing us to find the perfect settings to photograph her.  I am so grateful to Mark for the wonderful results.  We now have beautiful art on our walls showing all of her personality.  Couldn’t recommend more

Mark came over to take some pictures of my rabbit, Etta, who has a lot of energy and personality. I was worried but it turned out to be great. It’s as if Mark knows how to communicate with animals. My rabbit felt so comfortable and totally being her usual-self. And… the pictures turned AMAZING. I was blown away by the beauty and details he captured in each shot. .

Need Location Ideas for Your Pet Photoshoot?

Santa Clara has no shortage of charming spots for dog and pet photography—from leafy parks and creekside paths to streets lined with interesting architecture and colorful murals. These four favorites are my go-to locations but I’m always happy to explore a new suggestion if you have a special place in mind!

Central Park

Lush lawns, shaded pathways, and winding trails make Central Park a classic Santa Clara spot. Perfect for playful zoomies, sniff-filled exploration, and capturing your pet’s personality in natural light.

Guadalupe River Trail

This scenic trail offers tree-lined paths and open stretches along the river. Leash-friendly and peaceful, it’s ideal for relaxed walks and candid, creekside portraits of your furry friend.

Santa Clara University Campus

Historic architecture, open quadrangles, and leafy courtyards make a beautiful urban-meets-green backdrop. Ideal for pets who enjoy a mix of urban elegance and classic scenery.

San Tomas Aquino Creek Trail

A gently paved trail with shaded trees and soft sunlight filtering through—perfect for calm, natural portraits or action shots during a short stroll.

Frequently Asked Questions

Absolutely. I use secure areas or long leads, which I remove in editing. Safety first, smiles guaranteed.

For now, yes, but weekends are very popular. Saturdays are my main weekend day; Sundays are possible with notice. Weekday sessions can be easier to book if timing is flexible.

You get one free reschedule if the weather turns or your pet feels under the weather.

Sessions are $340 for Santa Clara, which includes a $50 travel fee if we shoot outside San Francisco. In SF, sessions are $290. Fee covers the full shoot plus editing.. Prints, wall art, and digital galleries are purchased separately after your reveal session held a few weeks after your shoot.

That’s normal! Many pets have their own agenda, which often creates the best shots. I bring treats, toys, and goofy noises to get attention without stress.

Santa Clara has great options! Central Park is lush with shaded paths and open lawns, perfect for playful portraits. Urban shots? Try the streets near Santa Clara University or City Hall. If you’d rather keep it simple I can always come to your home or backyard.

Yes! Cats, birds, bunnies, reptiles—if they have personality, I’ll capture it. Humans in the photos are always encouraged.
