Meet Mark Rogers

There’s just something about Walnut Creek dog and pet photography that hits the sweet spot between relaxed and scenic. With many open spaces, oak-dotted trails and sunny parks I sometimes think Walnut Creek was made for photographing animals outdoors. It’s one of my favorite East Bay spots to work.

I’m Mark Rogers, a Bay Area pet photographer with a knack for capturing the real stuff be it your dog mid-zoomie or your cat striking a dramatic pose (yep, they definitely planned it!) Location-wise we might shoot in the wide-open spaces of Shell Ridge or catch the golden hour in Civic Park. There’s also downtown if your pup loves attention or we can always head to your home for something quieter.

My sessions are simple, fun, and zero pressure—for your pets and for you. I follow their lead and tailor the session accordingly to fit your animal’s pace: wild, mellow or a mix of both. I’ll make sure we get photos that feel true to who they are.

Let’s make something you’ll love to look at for years. Reach out, and we’ll start planning your Walnut Creek dog and pet photography session.

two hounds in a truck window

Nancy – Walnut Creek, CA

I must admit I was skeptical since I had taken pictures of my sweet Emma and they all came out with her frowning!  But Mark was able to loosen her up, run her around and figured out how to eliminate the crinkled brow. The photos were great.

Mark is an amazing pet photographer! He has truly found his calling. Mark did everything to get the right shot–I mean he was laying down in the middle of an alley shooting my stubborn dog. Mark captured the essence of my dog and I will cherish the photographs forever!

Andrea – Oakland, CA

It was a pleasure to watch Mark work with my German Shepherd. She can be afraid of strangers, but was quite relaxed during the photo shoot and appeared to enjoy his attention. He was able to capture the essence of her personality

Frequently Asked Questions

No problem. I photograph dogs with a wide range of obedience training. Sometimes a dog with chronic zoomies is perfect for action shots and a stay-by-mom’s side type is better for portraits. Bring the energy – high or low and I’ll bring the patience..

Yes, but only one day per weekend. . I usually shoot Saturdays but will schedule a Sunday with enough notice. Weekends fill up very fast so if you can meet on a weekday evening or late afternoon for an outdoor shoot the shedule tends to be more open.

Bring it on.
Halloween costumes, sweaters, dresses, bandanas and bowties are all welcome. If your pet isn’t into clothing and you still want a little something extra we can also throw in props like a favorite toy or bed

We can. Typically one of them is at your home indoors or in the hard and the second is a park or outdoor spot within walking distance or a short drive. We don’t want to break the shoot rythm too much nor do we want to run out of daylight.

Not a problem.
Senior pets, animals with mobility or anxiety issues? Just give me details, and I’ll adapt. Every pet deserves their moment to shine.
